While not the most amiable of races, it seems to be widely accepted throughout the Star Trek universe that Romulans make some damn good alcohol in the form of Romulan Ale. Throughout the various series, the exact shade of the ale had ranged greatly. Let’s compare Romulan Ale to our own earthly beer.. some are lighter, some are darker. While the alien drink has “ale” in the name, we are not going to just add some blue food coloring to your favorite brewery’s ale.
Let’s concoct something that is similar… but alien to our human interpretation of ale, while making sure to maintain that purely Romulan blue hue!
Ingredients:
Spiced Rum (I used Captain Morgan’s)
Blue Curacau
Ginger Ale
Ice
Add two parts rum and two parts Blue Curacau into a mixer with ice. Mix. Strain out the blue drink into glasses. Add a fair amount of Ginger Ale for bubbly goodness.
Drink up, as so many from the Federation have before you!
