The Simpsons has been on for what seems like forever. With so many episodes and so much food, it is hard to have one food item stand out above the rest. But, in my mind Skittlebrau has to be a crowning moment for the cartoon. We all know Homer is a, erm, beer afficianado. With all his experience in the art of boozery, he concocted a truly epic brew called Skittlebrau. In the episode, Homer name the drink because of the floating candies in the beer. To make this drink a reality, I decided to nix the floating bits and refine Homer’s original recipe to a Skittlebrau Bomb!
Ingredients:
1 large pack of Skittles
Vodka
Wheat beer (I used Dogfish)
The most important part of this recipe is infusing the vodka with the Skittles. To do this, pour the large bag of Skittles into a jar.
Add as much vodka as you’d like. Seal the jar tightly with the lid and shake. Let it sit for 1-2 days. Pour yourself a nice pint of beer and a shot of the Skittle infused vodka. Drop the shot into the beer and chug!
The Skittlebrau will make you see all the colors of the rainbow… including yellow people?!
