You know the drill: St. Patrick’s Day comes and every bar in town offers up green beer specials to celebrate the Irish tradition of whatever it is that St. Patrick’s Day is commemorating. If you’d rather not spend $5 on a 12 ounce bottle of booze at the local pub, then you’re in luck as it turns out that making your own green brew is really quite simple.
Just a couple of drops of green food coloring will turn any blonde beer into a vibrant vessel of holiday cheer. Mix in a little bit of blue if you prefer kelly green (like Kelli, duh) or add some yellow if you’re into lime green (like me!).
I chose some Shiner Light Blonde due to my extensive experience with dying my hair in high school. Using the same bleach, then add Manic Panic philosophy, I figured it would be smart to start with blonde beer as well. It worked quite well!
